Biology-Human Body Systems: Circulatory

Students should be able to explain the reasons for the development of the circulatory system in animals, describe the structure of blood, describe the structure and function of blood vessels, describe the adaptation of erythrocytes to oxygen transportation, and explain the significance of tissue fluid and the lymphatic system.

Students will prove that veins contain special valves that direct blood to the heart. (Includes historical information.)
