Established on February 9, 2005, the Get the Lead Out Coalition worked to prevent the reopening of the American Smelting and Refining Company smelter (ASARCO) and publicized its threat to the environment and public health. The Get the Lead Out Coalition records date from 1989 to 2009, bulk 2005 – 2008. Types of records include meeting minutes, correspondence, newsletters, flyers, programs, printed emails, petitions, publications, clippings and newspapers, printed online articles, agendas, legal documents, and other printed materials. These records document the Coalition’s purpose, activities, and membership as well as contain some pro-ASARCO materials
